👀 At-a-Glance

A new web application (C2) solution that surveils and tracks the continuous flow of data, to facilitate critical decisions based on data/machine learning and allow timely reaction to critical situations.

Control rooms are a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with a myriad of technologies. System integrators are required to consider many different angles – solution components need to be reliable, secure and along with build quality, the solutions themselves should also ideally provide future-proof infrastructure to guarantee network safety and improving operator workflows.

Due to the project's confidentiality agreement, all the designs shown here will be intentionally altered and therefore not resembling the actual product.

🚧 Problem

With the goal of understanding our audience and designing with empathy, we talked to stakeholders, supervisors and operators in the operation room.

The team are working effectively despite the outdated system. However there is a lack of central organisation and inability to get an overview and management of the daily operation into a single report. We wanted to solve some of these fundamental problems by designing a web application.

<aside> 👉 Our challenge was to automate the day-to-day process to flow seamlessly, to migrate the paper based processes to equivalent digital interfaces and help the team work very efficiently than before.

🛠️ Solution

I worked with the lead designer to conduct research such as shadowing, user interviews, and develop a web application that enable users to track daily manpower and their daily activities.

When logged in, users can submit their shift to the next team, monitor their daily operation, file a report with proper procedures to follow through and assign manpower when required.

Process

I used stanford design thinking process for this project.

From the start, we used various research method constantly throughout the project to guide design decisions, prioritise and create empathy among the group of users - shadowing, interviews, contextual inquiries help the team understand what the clients really want.
